Policy makers in California (and elsewhere) are increasingly interested in expanding health insurance coverage to currently uninsured working parents, as well as to children. Coverage for uninsured parents is important, both for the parents themselves and because covering entire families makes it more likely that children will be covered and receive the care they need. In addition, families will be protected from financial catastrophe.
